The Life Foundation ( Lfdci ) programme for Palestine refugees  , Sudanese – African – Syrians

We work with refugees in the governorates of Sharkia, Alexandria, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Cairo, and Giza  ,  our services for this program are concentrated in the governorates of Sharkia and Alexandria, where the largest numbers of refugees are .

in Targeted areas assists impoverished Palestine refugees  , Sudanese – African – Syrians who are subject to the law and who suffer from legal, social, family, psychological, and economic integration problems  and promotes the development and self-reliance of disadvantaged members of the refugee community, especially women, children, youth, persons with disabilities and the elderly.

Our social safety  provides quarterly in-kind food and cash assistance to around 3200  Palestine , Sudanese – African – Syrians refugees in Egypt, including emergency cash assistance for specific cases of urgent need.

We recently reformed our targeting approach for this programme, guided by a socioeconomic survey of Palestine refugees  , Sudanese – African – Syrians in Egypt This survey helped us develop a set of indicators, including poverty lines, to use as thresholds for eligibility and Those under penalty of law, with a focus on women  .

The poor and the vulnerable are at the core of the programme. We also provide targeted services for women, youth and persons with disabilities,

All of our services aim to increase recipients’ opportunities for a better future by building their knowledge, potential and assets.

From 2015 till 2023 , this  programme supported 3200  refugees in Egypt – including women, youth and persons with disabilities – with trainings, apprenticeships, rehabilitation and awareness-raising activities.

We provided specialized services to support persons with disabilities and survivors of gender-based violence ,  rehabilitation  ,community integration services and the necessary interventions for full community integration..

We also run a microcredit community support programme that provides loans for start-ups or business expansion. This helps beneficiaries promote their economic development and enhances job creation among the Palestine refugee community.

The programme also provides housing loans to improve the refugees’ living conditions, since refugees in Egypt have long suffered from poor housing conditions and a shortage of housing.

our programme works in  supporting  loans, helping to create or save 1500  jobs.

The majority of the supported businesses are in the services sector, followed by small industry,.

The Foundation’s Beit Al-Hayat shelter provides a safe headquarters for refugee women, and all legal, social, psychological, economic, and health interventions are provided until full integration is completed..

 

The foundation’s operational paradigm is predicated on engendering sustainable development outcomes, with a distinct focus on augmenting living standards and empowering targeted demographics through a participatory model that transcends mere service delivery. Its operational footprint spans various governorates, with an explicit focus on amplifying the role of women and youth in effecting community transformation, fostering inclusivity, heightening social awareness, and encouraging innovative thought. In the same vein, the foundation underscores its commitment to advancing gender parity, empowering young women, and upholding the rights of women. It is also resolute in its commitment to combating all forms of violence against women, both at the local and national levels.

 

The foundation employs a multi-faceted approach, encompassing educational initiatives, dialogue facilitation, and creative interventions that leverage art and exhibitions as mechanisms to amplify the voices of victims and stimulate innovative solutions to issues of violence. The foundation’s service suite is undergirded by an overarching commitment to inclusivity, economic empowerment, and the cultivation of digital literacy and information technology proficiency. With an operational presence spanning diverse governorates, including Cairo, Qalyubia, Ismailia, Suez, and Alexandria, the Life Foundation substantively contributes to Egypt’s developmental fabric, enacting transformative change on a nationwide scale.
