The governor of El-Beheira, engineer/ Nadia Abdou promotes the idea of rehabilitation and community integration in collaboration with Life Foundation

In the framework of implementing of the project “economic empowerment of female ex-prisoners through mobile commerce vehicles” (#Arzak #car_Market), a consultation meeting was held in El-Beheira governorate by Life Foundation, represented by: Nermeen Elbahtyty, CEO of Life Foundation; Tamer Elrawy – Alexandria Branch manager. And attended by: Mr. Karim Saad, chairman of Innovation and Development Association in Alexandria; Major general/ Magdy Anani, secretary general of the governor; Mr. Hatem Abou Elnaga, deputy ministry of social solidarity; Mr. Elsayed Ramadan, director of the associations department at El-Beheira social solidarity directorate; Mr. Hussien Jalal, general director of financial and administration affairs at El-Beheira social solidarity directorate.

The Project (#Arzak) funded by the EU, which is implemented by Life Foundation in 2018-2020; which it provides support for 100 female heads of ex-prisoners in five governorates including El-Beheira; was explained in the meeting.

Everyone acknowledged the importance of the project and expressed their wishes to implement the project, help the target groups to start their life again, rehabilitate and reintegrate them and provide means and facilities to life foundation to help it to play its role in the field of rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.

Projects of Life Foundation also were discussed including (#start-Life) project which funded by Drosos Foundation; to complement its activities in the governorate of El-Beheira and cooperation to target the (Elabeadya) prison to transmit the cases directly to Life Foundation branch in Alexandria.

At the end, Life Foundation team held a meeting with the engineer/ Nadia Abdou, the governor of El-Beheira, which the agenda of the previous meeting was discussed and she expressed her wish to provide full support to empower female prisoners upon release and organize next meetings to discuss the system of rehabilitation and community integration in El-Beheira
