Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration succeeds in providing a release date of a prisoner

Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration provided the release date for a prisoner in the general prison of Banha. The lawyer of Life Foundation amended the prison sentences for the prisoner who was supposed to be released on 9^th April, 2018 and during the implementation of the sentence a  decision was issued to stop the running of the sentence in one case she was held accountable for, which had the case number of 64816 for 2014, appeal of Shebin Al Kom, which was issued on 28/6/2017, which made the implementation of the remaining penalty since the date of issuance of the suspension decision, therefore the date of release was moved ahead 28/12/2017 instead of 9/4/2018.

Life Foundation has activated the decision to stop the implementation of the penalty and that was done by following-up the administrative procedures that contributed to the amendment of the forms of imprisonment.

The lawyer of Life Foundation has visited the prisoner in the general prison of Banha and during the visit, the prison administration presented the prisoner’s papers to the lawyer of the foundation, which are the issues of dispensing security receipts- with final verdicts. The lawyer reviewed the cases at Shebin Al Koum court and found cases that were not related to the prisoner that were wrongly counted in her prison term forum.

As soon as the lawyer extracted the file from the prison and the decision of the suspension, the prison administration calculated the remaining prison terms for the prisoner and amended the release date from 28/12/2017 to 9/4/2018. This is due to successive visits by Life Foundation’s lawyers to the prisons and cooperation of the prison administration with the lawyers during the visit, while presenting the files of prisoners who need legal intervention within the framework of the project (Towards Rehabilitation and Reintegration of prisoners with the focus on women prisoners) funded by Drosos Foundation.

The foundation will continue to complete the procedures for the release of the prisoner and her departure from the prison as well as to follow up her case after her release at Life Foundation’s headquarters through its units to begin and provide the rehabilitation and reintegration program through the foundation and to end all legal problems.
