Human Rights Department at the Ministry of the Interior participates in first annual conference of Life Foundation

Human Rights Department at the Ministry of the Interior, represented by Brigadier General Manar Mokhtar -head of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of the Interior and head of Anti-Violence Against Women Department- participated in first annual conference of Life Foundation which held in Saffir Hotel in Dokki.

Each of the following were honored:

Major General Mahmoud Fouad – Deputy director of a directorate-general

Brigadier General Manar Mokhtar – head of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of the Interior and head of Anti-Violence Against Women Department

Colonel Mohamed Tawfiq – head of Training and Education Department at Human Rights Department at the Ministry of the Interior

For their productive collaboration with Life Foundation in supporting its programs of rehabilitation and community integration for prisoners and their contribution to facilitate procedures to access of Foundation’s services to target categories throughout Egypt.

A Documentary film entitled “Start from scratch” directed by Neveen Shalaby was shown during the conference; the most important achievements and successes of the project and the role of rehabilitation and community integration for prisoners in promoting community safety and the impact of custodial sentences on individuals and society were presented and discussed; in addition working paper on design a guideline of life skills programs for release submitted.
