“Child Sexual Harassment – Protection and Treatment” Seminar in Life Foundation’s branch in Alexandria

Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration held a workshop on “Sexual Harassment in Children – Protection and Treatment”, where our children’s care and attention is one of the community’s duties as well as the awareness of the importance of caring for this vulnerable group, which is focused on providing emotional security and psychological calm since it’s the foundation of building a healthy personality. It is therefore necessary to recognize that a high proportion of this precious group is subjected to brutal extortion of their emotions and feelings through sexual assault and harassment so it’s crucial to discuss ways of protecting and treating children when exposed to this crime.

Therefore Mrs. Duaa Abdel Rahman, psychologist at Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration, described the definition of sexual harassment of children, physical abuse, psychological emotional abuse, how is the abuse?, as well as protecting children from responding to harassment, and addressing the effects of child sexual harassment and their reintegration into society.

As Mr. Ramdan Mahrous, lawyer at Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration, discussed ways to deal with the legal situation in cases of children sexual harassment and distinguished between the criminal rules of these acts in the Penal Code and the Child Law.

Mrs. Aziza Ahmed, lawyer at Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration, stressed the importance of issuing a guide to raise awareness of the legal process when dealing with the harassers in order to spread the culture of confrontation.

Mrs. Esraa Hussein, Director of Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration’s branch in Alexandria, stated that Life Foundation supports raising awareness and education frameworks for specialists and non-specialists in relation to civil society.
