Third Quarterly Report August, 2017 – January, 2018 “Towards Social Rehabilitation and Reintegration Prisoners to Society with a Focus on Female Prisoners” Project

Life Foundation has been successful in cultivating its relations with the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Social Solidarity. In working with the Ministry of Interior, there is a remarkable development in cooperation, especially in getting prisoners lists, and taking the approval for training the prison staff – a target group of the project, and the confirmation for the entry of Foundation„s social workers as an alternative to lawyers to visit the prisoners officially, with friendly consent from prison officers. Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration has held several meetings with the Ministry of Social Solidarity to agree on the signing of the cooperation protocol. The remarkable development in cooperation was especially seen from the ministry‟s request to attach the list of services of the Foundation to the protocol to benefit from such activities. Another remarkable achievement is that Life Foundation has signed the Protocol of International Cooperation with 5 partner Foundations for the economic empowerment of women, which reflects the foundation‟s commitment to continuously fight for gender equality and human rights for marginalized groups, not just in Egypt but at the regional and international level.
