The Opening of Life Foundation hospitality center for released women prisoners (House of Life)

 

In the context of rehabilitation and community integration system implemented by Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration; under the project of Towards Rehabilitation and Community Integration with Focus on Female Prisoners which is funded by Drosos Foundation.

Life Foundation has opened a center for released women prisoners (House of Life) -the first of its kind- in Egypt; Life Foundation has supplied the center (House of Life) with livelihood needs of the cases, Training workshops were provided to train the released women prisoners to acquire the vocational skills to rehabilitate them occupationally, psychologically, and socially in a way that would protect their human dignity.

This center is the result of cooperation between Life Foundation and Prisoners and their Families Care Association; under the umbrella of Drosos Foundation which finances this project.

The hospitality center is located in ElSalam St. – ElSayadeen Quarter – Zagazig – El-Sharqia Governorate

The opening ceremony was attended by many executive officials, members of Parliament, and Dr. wessam ElBeih – The Regional Manager of Drosos Foundation in Egypt.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, attendees have visited the hospitality center from the inside, while providing a detailed explanation of application procedures, shelter services, follow-up programs, and the daily program of the cases who will stay in House of Life Center.

They have visited the section of leather works.

And they also have checked the renovations that have occurred in the sections of computer literacy, sewing training, and vocational and cultural development in Prisoners and their Families Care association.

After the opening session, the attendees went to the theatre of the Reformatory Institution for Boys in Zagazig to complete the ceremony sessions; which started with a statement made by Dr. Nermeen ELBahtyty – The Chief Executive Officer of Life Foundation and the President of the board of directors of Prisoners and their Families Care Association.

A speech made by Dr. AbdulSalam Sharaf – Chief of Impact Measurement unit at Fund for the Combating and Treatment of Addiction.

A speech made by Dr. Khalid ElEraki – Member of Parliament for Zagazig.

Contributors to the restoration of The Prisoners and their Families Care Association (House of Life) Building were honored in the ceremony.

In the closing session, the singer Khalid Bayoumi sang many songs and Boys in the Reformatory Institution sang with him too.
