Life Foundation launches its campaign ‘Our Girls Are Not For Sale’ from the village of Qahla in Belbeis

Life Foundation for Development and Community Integration launched a campaign against early marriage and tourism in cooperation with Start for Rehabilitation and Training and other civil organizations concerned with women. The first awareness campaign of its kind to introduce the dangers of early marriage and its health, psychological and social repercussions. Tuesday, 27/12/2016

The campaign aims to create a social awareness about the dangers of early and tourism marriage and the need to delay marriage to the age of 18 at least. It is also found that delaying the age of marriage is relatively not contrary to the teachings of Islam as long as it achieves interests and ensure more family and social stability as well as prevents legal and societal problems that can also be caused by repeated and fixed-term tourism marriages

It is worth mentioning that Life Foundation launched the slogan (Our Girls Are Not For Sale) for the campaign, which started by targeting the village of Qahla Al Jabla in Belbeis province of Al Sharkia

Where the Youth Association of Qahleh Al Jabla village represented by Abdul Maeen Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association received the campaign’s team and lecturers

Mr. Mohamed Farid Sadiq, a professor of law, said that establishing social awareness of the importance of preventing early and fixed term tourism marriages as well as all forms of illegal marriages since it is needed in a conservative society such as the Egyptian society within families that may resort to it because of poverty and need. We raise awareness by the participation of the media and social networking, newspapers, universities and mosques .. As Dr. Iman Abdul Baseet spoke about the psychological risks that occur to the girl when she’s subjected to repeated marriage, early pregnancy and the trauma of divorce

During his speech, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Majeed, Chairman of Youth Development Society, described the services provided by Al Sharkia’s Youth, the main partner of Life Foundation, is Start Initiative which began its work in the field of economic empowerment and job creation for young people and girls and all marginalized groups
