Life, Alexandria branch participates in (violence aganist woman) event by invitation of “New Woman” association

“Ahmed Abd El-Monem” The social specialist in Life foundation for Development and Community Integration participated in Workshop about “violence against women” by invitation of “New Woman” Association in El-Shatby culture centre in Alexandria.

The workshop was for 4 days :

During the first day has been discussed The violence definition generally and its types and its effects on battered people (violence victims) whether it was a verbal or physical and moral violence.

The second day was about Violence against woman especially and the challenges which face her like marginalization woman role and favouritism men more than women in all fields.

 The third day was about : women awareness ways to know her rights and duties.

The fourth day was about run a campaign for sixteen days about “ No Violence against woman” and to emphasis that the woman is a main role of society. She shouldn’t face margining or face Violence.

It is worth mentioning that this workshop was a part of the “Start_Life” project, funded by Drosos Foundation, which was founded late 2003 as a private non-profit organization to support community development, located in Zurich, Switzerland. The Foundation is committed to empower marginalized people to live a decent life. Drosos seeks to achieve long-term change through the projects it supports in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Switzerland and Germany.

Drosos has been working in Egypt since 2007. The foundation strongly supports the following areas: income generation and harm reduction for vulnerable groups, social protection and reintegration, encouraging youth creative activities, as well as environmental protection.

Until the beginning of 2016, the Foundation supported 54 projects in Egypt, serving a wide range of beneficiaries including marginalized youth, women and children.
